Introductory workshops on Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language

Workshops

Two training workshops will be held in March 2018.

The Cultural Component in the SFL classroom

Workshop description: Learning a language is something greater than just study its vocabulary or grammar. To learn a language also implies to have access to a whole set of rules that regulate the social interaction of its native speakers and which are as important as morphology or syntax when it comes to communicate with each other: taboos, gestures, beliefs, proxemics, or social conventions of any kind. This workshop aims to give ideas and strategies from a very practical point of view to teach this "superficial" culture, and to integrate it in the SFL classroom.

Course dates: March 16th

Timetable: 16:00 - 19:00

Teacher: Susana Pueyo

Writing Workshop for SFL students

Workshop description: This is a practical course in which, through an inductive methodology, the writing process is introduced as a way of meditation, through which writers learn about themselves and their reality, and share their perceptions to others. Writing is in fact an act through which the writer imagines an audience, develops ideas, creates drafts, to have as a result an elaborated text that needs to be corrected to satisfy the audience’s needs.

Course dates: March 23rd

Timetable: 16:00 - 19:00

Teacher: Susana Pueyo
